I just wanted to say thanks for writing this tutorial on installing Debian. After reading it through I think I am actually going to give it a try although I will probably be trying out KDE, but hey that is the spirit of Debian right, Freedom of choice!

This guide helped me a lot. It is very clear and easy to read. The most important plus is the sequence of steps to have a basic OS

Very useful guide. I'm new to Debian Sarge. So when I was finished with base-config, I was struck by the command prompt, OMG.
So I started googling and spotted your guide on how to install GUI. Tks a lot.
